De internationale wedstrijd, de Postcode Lottery Green Challenge 2009, is weer van start gegaan. Heb je een creatief en innovatief groen idee waardoor de CO2 uitstoot afneemt dat er ook nog eens cool uitziet dan kun je je tot 31 juli inschrijven. Tijdens PICNIC’09 eind september wordt het beste idee bekendgemaakt. Net als voorgaande jaren gaat de persoon met het beste idee naar huis met een prijs van maar liefst €500.000, om het product of de dienst binnen twee jaar op de markt te brengen. Niet mis! De nummer twee en drie krijgen ieder €100.000.
Vorig jaar won Eben Bayer uit de VS de hoofdprijs voor zijn biologische isolatiemateriaal Greensulate. Capra J’neva kreeg de €100.000 voor haar Veranda Solar panelen. In 2007 won de Nederlandse Igor Kluin de Green Challenge met de Qbox voor decentrale energieopwekking.
